Korea
Korea is a country that has managed to maintain a strong sense of cultural identity through war and invasions. Perhaps in the pursuit of a unique identity, certain details have been pushed to the side. Korean culture is often presented as a binary of what is and what is not. Yet when we take a look at history, is it that simple?
“Korea” is a conceptualized book containing fragments of Korean history that are often forgotten or overlooked. It covers a number of topics including religion, rulers, borderlines, inventions, and more. The visual system takes inspiration from bojagi, a Korean patchwork often used to cover or carry items.
